One of the reasons that the two-piece e-cigarettes are gaining popularity over their three-piece counterparts is that they are very convenient to use. A two-piece electronic cigarette has two main components - a battery and a cartomizer, which is an atomizer and a pre-filled cartridge put in one. As the cartomizer is pre-filled and can be directly attached to the battery for vaping, you won't have to go through the hassles of refilling the liquid time and again. However, one problem that you may face with a Cartomizer is leakage.
There are numerous brands of cartomizers available today, and not all of them may be of the same quality. But the brand of cartomizers you choose may not be entirely responsible for its leakage. Also, not all cartomizers of any particular brand may be leaky. So what then, could be the reason for this problem?
For one, it could be overheating of the atomizer coils in the piece, which could create a hole in the centre column of the Cartomizer. When this happens, the liquid starts to flow through this hole and into the e-cigarette's connector point. With a leaking Cartomizer, you may not be able to enjoy vaping as much.
While avoiding a cartomizer leakage may not always be possible, you can definitely reduce the possibility. Cartomizers tend to get burnt easily when they are completely dry. So the best way to prevent fissures and leakage is to keep the Cartomizer wet, by refilling it with one or two drops of the liquid each time after 15 or 20 drags. You could also use a Liquinator, which helps in keeping the polyfill wet all the time.
Another tip is to keep the voltage low when using a cartomizer initially, and shift to higher voltage in time. This allows you to prevent the cartomizers from dry-burning and makes them last longer than their usual one to two week lifetime.
