Missouri Reflects Over Electronic Cigarettes
Friday 25th November, 2011

The recent series of events held to spread awareness about the dangers of smoking tobacco have inspired many to quit smoking. The Great American Smokeout was recently organised by the American Cancer Society. A local organisation called Clean Air St. Joe recently hosted a Zumba event to encourage people to join the nationwide Smokeout.

Almost all smokers are aware of the dangers of regularly consuming tobacco. While most resolve to kick the habit, only a small percentage is successful. Popular cessation treatments like nicotine patches, gum or nicotine replacement therapies have not been as successful. A comparatively safer method to continue getting your daily nicotine fix without tobacco and thousands of other toxins is to switch to electronic cigarettes.

Currently, Kansas City has not imposed a city wide ban which allows smokers to switch to e-cigarettes without much worry. However, the decision to let people use e-cigarettes in public establishments like restaurants and bars has been left to the owners.

Several residents in the state have noticed the benefits of using electronic cigarettes over tobacco cigarettes. Apart from saving a bomb on costs, e-cig users have also enjoyed better health and more productive lifestyles. E-cigarettes users are also enjoying the benefits of using their vaping devices anywhere without risking the health of others around them.

One such resident from Maryville, Missouri realised that he spent a lot more money on cigarettes in a month than on e-cigarettes. Initially smoking over two packs everyday, he has now reduced his nicotine intake by half. Even though e-cigarettes are not approved by health boards like FDA and ACS (American Cancer Society), the benefits have been noticed by thousands all over the world.

With over fifty million smokers in the United States alone, the switch to e-cigarettes could save millions of lives and billions of dollars spent on healthcare.
